09:30 Bridging from Analysis to Design  | Cherie Wilkins

There are a wealth of tools and techniques for process analysis and process design but there are few that assist in making the transition from analysis to design. This session will demonstrate a proven approach for making the transition from analysis to design that addresses multiple process improvement pitfalls.

Tutorial Agenda:

  1. The challenges of moving from Process Analysis to Process Design
  2. A proven approach: the Is to Should Transition Phase
    1. A review of the methodology and tools for this phas
    2. Practice with a key tool
  3. A proven technique: Could-Be Ideas
    1. Review and practice of this key technique
  4. Leveraging both in Design
    1. How to use the results from this phase to drive better process design and implementation

14:30 Processes: to model and automate, or not?  | Pascal Ravesteyn

Many organizations are putting a lot of effort in modeling their processes. Some are doing this as part of a process improvement effort or quality project while others use the graphical representation of processes as an input to the functional requirements of software development projects. However there are not much companies that realize that depending on the goal(s) .A different manner of modeling processes is necessary, and sometimes it might even be better not to model your processes at all.
